These are some examples of interesting and effective bindings of books, and general book design. This is purely analyzing the way the folds or the binding is produced and made, so that when I come to make my books I have a understand and plenty of ideas. I think I am pretty much set on making one book that is a general everyday bind nothing fancy, but a very much more graphic look to it. Then a more arty book with a more evolved binding process which would then fit the collection that I choose to do.
Along with taking a look at possible book bindings we also had chance to make a book are selves. I chose the example above (with a curved spine). This process is quite intense and has a lot of section to making but the end results are always good, even if you think you may have made a mistake somewhere down the line, which is what I thought. I don't think I'll ever be able to produce the book on my own without the help of the technicians, but I think its a very valuable skill to learn, and very important in industry were all printers hate graphic designs.
As far as collections go I haven't found a subject yet, but I want it to be quite a repetitive subject like say bus tickets or postcards, something that flows, but this idea may change. I think I'm looking at collecting and presenting someone else's collection as I don't really have anything that stands out.
